2018 Weekly Sessions

Five Days, Five Great Cities! – July 9th – 13th

Travel with us as we embark on an adventure to five of the world’s most amazing cities! Campers will investigate just what makes up the features of a city and then visit a new city each day of the week. As we pack our bags, stamp our passports and arrive at each new destination, we will navigate the sights through the pages of books, videos and photos. We will sample the culture of the city and taste its cuisine with cooking projects each day.

A Is for Amazon – July 16th – 20th

Join us as we trace the path of the mighty Amazon River from high in the Andes Mountains of Peru to the coast of Brazil, where 4,000 miles away it empties its fresh water into the Atlantic Ocean. Explore the Amazon Rainforest of Brazil, the largest ecosystem in the world and home to insects, parrots, jaguars, monkeys and the world’s largest snakes! From forest floor to canopy, you are sure to be amazed!

Trash to Treasures Art Camp – July 23rd – 27th

Join fellow artists as we look at recyclables with new eyes, transforming them into one-of-a-kind artworks! We will repurpose materials in new and interesting ways, blending old and new, textures and colours to form interesting works of art. Imaginations will be inspired as campers create individual and group projects.

French Culinary Creations – July 30th – August 3rd

Young chefs will prepare and taste an array of delicious recipes taught and spoken in French. They will expand their knowledge of the kitchen with a fun assortment of kitchen tools as they whisk, spiralize, roll, mold, press and, best of all, taste their way through recipes that are sure to please! Our week concludes with a special cooking demonstration by Cordon Bleu Chef Michèle Fournier.

Sizzling Science – August 7th – 10th (4 day week)

Investigate the electrifying world of science! Children will discover how and why as they conduct a variety of experiments. Perfect for the mad scientist in all!

Incredible Insects – August 13th – 17th

Explore the world of insects and other arthropods during this exciting educational week. We will track praying mantises, learn about pollinators and search for bugs at OMS Montessori. Children will be able to create bug houses to take home at the end of the week!

French Camp – August 20th – 24th

Provide your child the opportunity to engage in various fun activities that allow him/her to use the French language in a real-life setting. This camp will offer amusement and adventure while providing the structure to enrich your child’s use of the French language during the summer months. Participants of French Camp will use their oral and written skills each day during this two-hour French class! They will also enjoy creating crafts, cooking, music, games, sports and outings – all < en francais >!

Each camp week includes a Yoga and Mindfulness session, a field trip, baking or cooking and planting in our boxed gardens. Join us on our 3-acre property to explore nature during all weeks of camp; each week is guided by the Montessori principles of respect for nature and each other.
